I Don’t Give a F**K What You Think

Well not me specifically. I actually care a lot, about a variety of different things but to those people who live their lives by that particular mindset I have a bone to pick with you…

Why? because you’ve turned a positive if not motivational ideal into something to justify either your foolish actions or the foolish words that constantly come out of your mouth.

Here’s what I believe this whole nonchalant idea stemmed from orĀ  was at least heavily influenced by: Over a span of many decades, a lot of people who have achieved their desired level of success have almost always made the same statement-that one of the things they had to do was to stop caring about what other people thought about what they were doing and believe in themselves to see their vision come true. They would then usually go on to encourage the youth that look up to them to adopt a similar mindset when it came to chasing their dreams.

This,in regards to your ambition, is a great, if not essential, mindset to have. You want to be a doctor? That’s great. Study hard, work hard and don’t let anyone tell you that you don’t have what it takes to make it. The same thing applies to any other lofty goals that any of my readers have because at the end of the day should everyone else doubt you, all you have is yourself to believe in and at times that has to be enough.

However, there are those particular groups of young people, especially in my generation, who take the ideal and apply it to nothing in particular. They don’t care because it’s ‘cool’ not to care but nothing good comes from it, in most cases it actually makes things worse.

I remember when I was going to BCC they had a game room where students could come hang out between classes to play pool, use the computers, play video games and basically socialize. Problem was, some people would never leave that room to actually go to class. I remember I used to see the same people in that room when I walked by at 9 in the morning that I would see at 3 in the afternoon, because let them tell it, they really didn’t care about going to school they were just there in order to get the financial aid check.

Lo and Behold, not even a year later a new policy was put into place in which those who were receiving financial aid had to be signed off by their teachers that they were actually attending the classes they’d signed up for. So much for not caring about going to class right?

I realize that this is probably a tamer example of someone who doesn’t care much about any particular thing but I’m sure each of you could probably think of a more serious example in which a person not caring has had a more severe backlash upon themselves or a group of people.

In conclusion I think the people who constantly think this way and really aren’t about anything are the ones who typically end up being a waste of God given talent and potential. Ironically enough, they tend to be the ones who garner the most attention with their ‘couldn’t give two S**ts’ attitude. I think why I end up getting upset is because I’ve realized that I’m a part of a generation with the mindset of world changers but so very few have their minds set on changing the world. It’s too bad they’re too busy not giving a F**k.
